Chapter Chat week 8

 This is my week 8 chapter chat! Lily and I worked together on a drawing, We got to draw Gertrude in a wedding dress. But Lily and I did it really different from the book we did an actual wedding dress like from 2020 and It was bright and colorful. Hope you like:)

 

Chapter Char W7!!!

 This is my week 7 chapter chat! So I drew a tortoise because in our book (Code name: Bananas) Erics Grandmas house got bombed (because the book is based in WW2) and she didn't survive:( So now Eric has to live with another family but he doesn't want to so he runs away and jumps off a bridge and landed on a boat with cardboard (I think Im trying to remember Im sorry if these are wrong) and somehow ends up at the zoo (I think) and sees uncle Sid , Sid takes him into a little house with broken animals like... 1 legged flamingo, a elephant with a tiny trunk, a crocadile with no teeth and a tortoise with a washing basket on the back there are more but I forgot. When I drew the tortoise we weren't up to that part in the book yet so I drew a plastic washing basket but its not what they look like in WW2 there woven with flax. Anyways Hope you like my picture! Also don't mind my face! :) 

Case Closed!

 This term we have been trying to solve a crime! 

We just found out who it was like 10 minutes ago and it was Mrs. Taaffe!!! She came to tell us her back story but she ended up confessing At first, I was suspecting Miss Coles but it wasn't. Once everyone saw the security footage they all mostly suspected Mrs. Taaffe because when she got to the concrete her hair was blonde. Once we did the interview most people thought it was her anyway because the day of the brake in she came to school to do some jobs and after that, she dyed her hair I think she did that to throw us off the scent. There was also blood on the door and she said she had a cut wrist around that time, she said she cut her wrist on the door trying to get it open. The things she took were the chocolate bars (Milky way bars - which were her favorite) and the dongle but when she confessed she said she will bring it back.

Chapter Chat Week 6

 This is my chapter chat! I had to make an old cage in Londen! The Gorilla that is there Bella helped me to make it because I can't draw gorillas. I had to glue a piece of cardboard to the cage because It would look really weird.

Think Like A Detective!

 This is my think like a detective decoder. This was really fun to do because I really like decoding stuff and I'm not really sure I just like it! My least favorite part was searching for the letters because I keep forgetting where the letter is!

This is my Grammar Cop for this week! I really liked doing this because I was learning new things and it was quite easy to do. I also liked rewriting the sentences because one of my favorite things is writing!

Letter Of The Week (Week 5)

This is my week 5 letter of the week! I had so much fun doing this because I like adding the colors and all the pictures. My favorite part was adding the colors in each shape. Hope you like my letter of the week. I didn't really do much but I still like it! :)

Halloween

This is my blog challenge it's about Halloween! We had to answer 3 questions and yea. It was really fun to make because after I added little transparent images they were all related to Halloween. Amy and Melissa said that it's a Supernova I think I could add a bit more detail but I think it's cool though.

Athletics Training

 Yesterday at athletics I couldn't do it because I chipped my bone. So I had to go to Moana Nui. But obviously, I did the training.

My favorite things in athletics are the long jump shot put and discus I'm not really sure why there my favorite they just are. The Thing that I found challenging was definitely high jump that's how I hurt my ankle and every time I kept flopping. The thing that was the easiest was doing the long jump because all you have to do is the run-up to the mat then jump off the mat into the sand and try and keep your balance. The learning Powers I think I used was Courage because I was brave and didn't quit.   

Letter Of The Week R :)

 This week I did the letter of the week(we kinda had too). This week's letter was R!!! I found this easy because there is a lot of words that start with R. My favorite part was doing the sentence because I don't really know it was just really fun to make! I used Taylor for the word that ends with R! Hope you like :)

 This week I did the LOTW A.K.A Letter Of The Week. The Letter was N! This was really fun to make but I didn't really add many pictures but I still like it.  The word that ends with N I chose Tamzin because her name ends with an N and she's my Best Friend.

Fingerprints!

These are my fingerprints we had to do this because there was a break-in, in our classroom, they took our dongle and our milky way chocolate bars and now we have to find out who the thief was and we did this to check our fingerprints and there are different types of fingerprints. The different types are whorl arch and loop I have Loops on my thumbs and whorls on my other fingers. We had to put our fingers on this ink pad to put on our sheets to make sure we had the perfect print we had a practice sheet because if we make a mistake there were no do-overs. some of the first prints were terrible but that got better

Chapter Chat T3 Week 10

 This week for chapter chat I did Abby as a rockstar when I did it we weren't up to the part in the book so Abby sounded different from what I made her look like. But I think she looks great I added parts of magazines to the background to pop out and make a supernova!. Overall I think its a 10\10 because I like how I did it even though we weren't up to the part in the book I still really like it. Hope you like it! :)

T3 Letter Of the week - end of term

 This is my week 10 letter of the week. This week's letter was M as you can see. I kinda did this in a rush because I still need to do both of the mysteries and its Wednesday and there's no school on Friday so yea its a little rushed but I really like it. My favorite part was adding in the cow and doing the sentence. I looked at Tamzin and Stephanies for inspiration but thy thought I was coping but I wasn't. Hope you like:)

 

Inquiry!

 This term we did inquiry and we were in the Bug Galore group! because we were in the group we made a Bug Hotel and this is what It turned out like and this is what we used to make it

First, we got cans then hot glued them together because they weren't staying where we wanted them too

Then we got some sticks rock pine cones and bommy knockers from under the trees and some moss.

then boom we put it together. we also did it in groups and in my group was Jolie\me Melissa Bella and Jessica.

Letter Of The Week

This week I did a letter of the week. On our whoogle its was a must-do this week's letter was G.

 

Crystal Making

 This week we are making borax crystals and sugar crystals! we are doing it because it's for our workshops in my group was Bella, Jessica Amy, and Me. In this picture, we made borax crystals we got a pipe cleaner and made a shape out of it we made a hart. next were making sugar crystals and on Monday we get to eat them. most people think there gross but I don't know yet but Xanthe said its delicious. but I'm really excited to make them. 

Cooking Reflection

 This week I joined the cooking group, we made soup!

On the first day, we had to plan what we had to bring and go over the safety rules in the kitchen.

On the second day, we had to bring vegetables for the soup and cut them up. 

On the third day we got to eat it In my opinion it was ok, there were so many vegetables all you could see is veggies.

The part I liked the most was making it because I like cutting foods and I like cooking and it was fun.

Chapter Chat T3 week 7

 This is my week 7 chapter chat! I was away for a while so this is rushed and I could only do it today! I did Sarah from wink. This was really fun to make and I did her at a skate park because she has a skateboard so what better background to do than a skate park. Hope you like it! :)

Term 3 Whetu Workshops :)

 Whetū Workshops Reflection

During Term 2 and 3 the Whetū students have had the opportunity to be involved in a range of different workshops.

The workshop that I have enjoyed participating in the most has been drama because when we did drama we did acting and we played this game called honey if you love me give me a smile and it was so fun! 

The new learning that I have learnt is that in tech we were doing scratch. It's kinda hard because I haven't used it in a while and I learnt how to make my characters walk properly because I didn't really know how!

What I have most enjoyed about the workshops is that the teachers have taught us more and more.

 I am interested in learning more about making pom pom birds better because it failed and all the sting kept falling out.

Number Of The Day!

 This is my Number Of The Day. I am sick today so I'm doing it at home. I also did a working out page on the back! 

Zoo Inquiry Should Animals Be Kept In Zoo's?

This is my so what inquiry post. We were learning about should animals be kept in zoos? so this is what I created. My opinion is that I think they should be kept in zoos.

 

Cross Country Training

Cross Country Training Reflection 2020

This year I Couldn't do the NPS Cross Country held at school on the Ngatea Domain. But I did the training

I am most proud of putting my effet into the training I did because I was busy doing other stuff so I'm proud of my training but I think I could do a bit better than what I did.

I think my effort towards our training at school was ok because I think I could put more effort into my training because I was really slow and I was always at the back.

I showed the Learning Power of Resilience by trying my best and not giving up when I was at the back and getting lapped multiple times. 

Chapter Chat Freak-O-Meter

This is my first Chapter Chat blog post! We are reading the book Wink. I did a freak o meter because Ross the boy in the story he has this kind of cancer in one eye and that's why its called wink. But in the story he's kinda freaking out I'm not sure why because I can't remember but that's why I did a freak-O-meter. You can't really see the red one but it says cry like a baby and never show your face again. Since it's like a scale you obviously have to have an arrow but I didn't know where to put it so I cut the black line and cut out an arrow and now it slides. Hope you like my Chapter Chat!

Week 3 Whetu Challenge!!!!

This is my week 3 WHETU CHALLENGE!!!! This week we did a Cartoon challenge were we get a specific cartoon and create a character. We had to be in learning constellations to do this. For the Challenge, I did Mummy Pig as you can tell. OJ had a little bit of trouble doing Peppa Pig we ran out of time so this all OJ did was just the outline, I had to help her out a bit. Poison Dart Frog Research

This is my Week 3 Poison Dart Frog Research. This week we have been doing research because animals we picked on some slides Obviously I picked Poison dart frog!

Chocolate Bean Ganache Cake (Sand)

Today me and my friends made a sand cake! I just helped a little but I still did it! We always make stuff like this in the mud kitchen. Make this was fun even though I didn't do much.

Egg Drop Challenge!!!!!!

For Our Whetu Challenge, We Did A Egg Drop Challenge!

What I enjoyed the most was seeing people's eggs crack because I like the sound of smashing eggs.

What was easy the easiest part for me was taping it all together because all you had to do was just get the tape and wrap it around the creation.

Who I worked with was Alyssa and Bella.

What was the hardest part for me was trying to tie the balloon because we can't really tie balloons but we got there in the end!

How we made it the way we made it was we got some newspaper and wrapped it around my hand and then taped it and then put another layer and did the same thing luckily I got my hand out we also got some straws and taped it to the newspaper bowl and then at the top was a balloon and the straws were connected to it!

Did the egg survive yes the egg survived :)

Literacy Mystery

This is my Literacy Mystery. I kinda had a lot of trouble doing it but I got there in the end. All week I was sick an I surprised that I got it done because I didn't think I would get it done. here's a photo of the Suspect list. The thief just in case you can't see it is...... TESSA THE TERRIBLE!! 

Term 2 Reflection

The new learning activity that I have enjoyed the most this term is the Opt-in workshops because they are always fun and you can learn and have fun at the same time and I think the opt-ins are really cool.

Something that has challenged me this term has been basketball because It was kinda hard at first and then every time we went out there I got better and better and I think I really enjoy basketball and It pushed me to try something new.

The Whetu Challenge I enjoyed the most was the egg carton challenge because I've never done it before and I made an ocean and I liked the colors I did and all the shells I put in there.

The opt-in workshop I enjoyed the most was basketball because I find basketball fun and challenging, it was different to what I expected, but It was nice to have something new to do.

An aim I have for my learning is to get better and improve my maths because I’m not bad, but not great but I think I need more practice at math.

Egg Carton Creation

This week for our Whetu Challenge we created something using egg cartons.

The Materials I used were obviously an egg carton, some shells, rocks sand, paint, googly eyes, and beads for pearls.

The easiest part was nothing because it was all easy because all I did was pant put glitter on and then shells and rocks etc.

The thing that I enjoyed the most was probably panting because I love painting ad doing stuff creatively.

The thing I didn't enjoy the most was drawing the fish and jellyfish because the paint was coming off when I was drawing it.

Week 11 Word of the week

This is my week 11 Word Of The Week. This week's word as you can see is cacophony. It was kinda hard to use it in a sentence because I didn't really know what it means even though I searched it up I was away yesterday so I couldn't really do it so I'm doing it today. The easiest part was getting the picture because all you have to do is search up cacophony and go into images and get a picture.

Maths Mystery week 11

This is my week 11 math mystery I did it with Izzy AGAIN!!! I think we always do it together because we work really good together and when I work with someone else I don't really get stuff done. this week's murder is Berniece Lowry! how could she murder someone like that! I think The hardest part was doing clue 1 because It was really hard to work out and It took me and Izzy ages to do. The easiest part was doing clue number 3 well for Izzy because I was sick and she did it.

Week 11 Blog Challenge

This is my week 11 blog challenge. This week's blog post is about making your own bedroom or classroom. I made my bedroom and it actually looks pretty similar if you're wondering why there's to thingys for my bedroom its because my room is off the lounge so you go to the lounge then my room and I have a playroom when you walk into my room and there there's my bedroom connected to it instead of just doing my room I did my bathroom too. I was gonna do my whole house but I realized to would take to long to do. so yeah I hope you liked my part of the house.

Paper Planes

Whetu Challenge - Paper Planes

Today our challenge was to design an accurate paper plane. We were given a draft piece of paper to trial and a good piece to use once we had tested the accuracy of it.

Before we started I thought this challenge was going to be kinda easy because I use to be so good at making paper planes.

I decided to use the design flowers and harts because I thought It would be nice to use flowers and I did so purple waves and yellow for my name but I wrote my name a couple times because I didn't want to lose it.

The hardest part was making it because I mucking it up and wrinkling it up too much so I got Melissa to help me out a bit.

During our competition time, I managed to score I think I scored like 10 at most? I'm really not sure because most of it was landing by the five scores and others.

Week 10 Word Of The Week

This is my Word Of The week. The word is bewildered. This was easy quick and fun to do. Lately I haven't been doing these word of the week but now i`m gonna do it. My favourite part was doing the definition because it was easy to fin and I've always like putting definitions into things. My least favourite part was doing the uses it in a sentence because I don't really know I just didn't really like doing it.

Jolie's Sick Sentence

This is my week 10 Sick Sentence. This week was a snail in a juicy strawberry. The easiest part was doing the nouns because I don't really know I just found it kinda easy. The hardest part was doing the second to last slide because to me I keep making not readable and yet again I really don't know and The most fun part was doing the adjectives because I like describing words.

This is my week 10 Math Mystery I did It with Izzy again. Izzy and I  had so much fun doing this and can you guess who the thief was? well, you can because It is in my slides and Ill just tell you anyway it was RUBY! she stole everything how rude. Hope you like!

Week 10 Blog Challenge

This is my week 10 blog challenge! This week we had to remake the birthday cards for Miss Coles and Mr. Fraser. I even tried To do a dad Joke so if you look at the picture and you look in the purple square there is the joke. I even did some balloons and some cakes and the blog challenge instructions make everything bright and bold and that's what I did I did some stars and diamonds just to make it better and into a supernova, I also did a scratch and sniff sticker. My favourite part was doing the joke and cakes and Balloons. My least favourite part was doing the colouring the Happy Birthday sign because it took to long and some of it wouldn't let me colour them so I had to rewrite the happy birthday multiple times. But I really think this is a supernova and I did a good job.

Week 9 Math Mystery

This is my week 9 Math Mystery I did it with OJ and Izzy. As you can see It is the Pancake problem. Some of it we didn't know what to do just we got there in the end in clue one we didn't know how to solve it until Ms. Mac explained it to us If you flick to the last slide the pancake pincher is SEB how could he do that to them. I really thought it was Wade because to me he was really suspicious and he was the last person we highlighted before we found out it was Seb.

Blog Challenge Week 9

This is my week 9 Blog Challenge. We had to do a thing where it said what would You Look like and be in 10 years' time and When I'm older I'm gonna be a scientist because since I was 7. I made my avatar like this because I thought I would look like this for the avatar I did a normal t-shirt with a sweater but the collar of the t-shirt is sticking out.

Week 9 Sick Sentences

This is my week 9 Sick Sentences! It was really fun and I finished it in less than 20 minutes. Me and Izzy kind of have the same thing because we sat next to each other and we gave each other ideas. This time it was about a bee and an owl.

Jolie's Tennis Ball Tower Challenge

Tennis Ball Tower Challenge

Today for our Whetu Challenge we worked in a group to build a tower out of newspaper, 2 straws, and sellotape. We needed to make our tower strong enough to hold a tennis ball and be able to stand alone (not leaning on anything or needing support).

Today I worked with Ihi and Stephanie 

At first, we had trouble with… We didn't really have any trouble with anything because we worked really well together

The easiest thing was planning because Ihi had a really good plan to make it but we didn't expect it to be very small 

The best part of our tower was The little holder where we put the tennis ball because It worked really well with their tower and it stuck to the newspaper quite well and we didn't have any problems with it.

Our tower looked quite small because we folded the newspaper in half and It turned out small.

In the end, it turned out ok but we could have turned out a lot bigger but it's ok we did a good job.

Sick Sentences

Today I started doing sick sentences. If you went through my slides you could see that we had to do adjectives and describing words. me and Izzy have almost the same words because we are sitting next to each other. I kinda struggled with the nouns and the adjectives but I think that I got there in the end but I think I got somethings wrong with the nouns and the adjectives but if it's wrong I cheek it later.

Catapult Challenge Refection

Whetu Catapult Challenge

The things that I used to make my catapult were: 8 Small sticks 2 large sticks and 3 rubber bands.

To make my catapult I worked with Chloe

The most challenging part was trying to get it to work because when we did it some things fell apart and then we had to re do it and then get it to work.

Overall I think that was really fun and even though we didn't win we still had a really fun time.

We also didn't get a photo because we didn't know we didn't have one.

Emoji Making

This is my emoji blog challenge! I did a Unicorn crossed with a vampire. I did little lightning bolts as blood because you know vampires they drink blood The reason why I did a vampire is because I watched a lot and I mean a lot of vampire movies I watched a series called The Vampire Diaries and the Originals. I did a unicorn on it because I thought It would different and cool. If I have to choose being a vampire or a unicorn I would be a Vampire because you can compel people and have super speed and I think thats sooo cool. My Favorite part of doing this was probably doing the cape the hair and the fangs. my least favorite part is doing the ears because I had to trace the ears and it was kinda hard to fin a unicorn that was looking to the front. Hope you like it!

Math Mystery

This is Izzy and I's Mystery. This was so much fun but somethings were hard to do. The hardest thing to do was probably clue five but most of it is kinda easy. The easiest thing was to do was probably clue 3 because all you have to do is see if it everything adds up to 50 and if it does you have to put a line through it and if it had the lines if would be a girl and it was you can scroll through the slides and see who the culprit is. Hope you like it.

Week 1 Refection

Week 1 Reflection

What has been my highlight this week is seeing my friends for the first time in 7 weeks because I really missed them.

What was I nervous about this week coming back to school because I thought I would have forgotten something or left something at home.

For dress-up day I dressed up as a crazy rainbow clown without the red nose because I didn't have one and I added some fairy wings so I can make my outfit better.

The funniest thing has happened this week is me dressing up as a clown today because my outfit is so weird.

I think the best-dressed person was Ashley and Lola because they are dressed up as flower girls and its really pretty.

Week 7 T2 Fabulous

This is my week 7 Chapter Challenge but it's actually my fab finish woohoo! I made this at home when we were in lockdown. It was really fun. I made Peter if you can't tell I make Peters's eye pop-out it didn't actually happen in the book but I was really bored and he just needed something to happen to him because I didn't do much except for the drawing. The hardest part probably doing the hair and his shape of the head but I think it turned out really good. The easiest part was doing the sweater and his eyes If you look at my drawing it looks like his ears are crooked and they possibly are. It took ages to do his hair I had to look at the screen and then look at the paper and I mucked up A LOT  I even had to restart the whole paper because I much up and I scrunched it up. I asked Chloe if this was a supernova a shooting star or a simple star and she said its a Supernova! Hope you like it.

Milk Bottle Creation

My Milk Bottle Creation

The milk bottle creation I made was a Water Can.

The hardest part was trying to figure out how I would make it because my original idea was a hand sanitizer bottle but it failed so I went with a water can.

The easiest part was gluing everything together because all you have to do is glue and then you stick whatever you wanna glue together.

I enjoyed putting spots of glue on my water can and then coloring.

Week 4 Chapter Challenge T2 Research

This is my week 4 Chapter Challenge, I did research! For research, we had to research Judy Blume the writer that wrote the book A Tale Of A Fourth Grade Nothing This was really fun to make because I like doing research. My favorite part had to be the coloring because I really enjoy coloring I chose those colors because I feel like it just fits I asked my family and asked if it was a Supernova and they said yes it is a supernova. For the Letters up at the top of the paper, I did rainbow colors but then when it got to the other words I kinda just did them in pink and blues, when I was sharping I realized that my writing was going down as you can see. Anyways I hope you like it!

Chapter Challenge Create W3 T2

This is my week 3 T2 challenge I did create! I made a cake because it said "create a cake for Fudges Birthday so I actually made a cake, I made a chocolate cake because it's kinda like Fudge's name. This cake was sooooo good. Me and my sister went out to the garden to find some flowers to decorate it but we didn't really find any good flowers so we picked out some petals and 3 flowers. I asked my family members if my cake was a simple star, a shooting star, or a supernova and they all said supernova. Hope you like this

ANZAC Cookies

Last night I made ANZAC cookies. My dad said I did it all by myself but my dad did help with it too so ill give him some credit. They didn't come out like we thought they would because my dad was following his grandma`s recipe. They were so yum. It's not bad for my first time making them. I added sugar on top of them just so they would look better. My sister Halle used to make them all the time and last night I have her one and even they were different from the ones she makes she said there really good.

Week 2 T2 Chapter Challenge Design

This is my week 2 term 2 Chapter Challenge. I did a mugshot, In the story, it says "Peter wonders what it would be like to visit the police HQ and look at mugshots". this was really fun to make I made it on my phone I used the app IbisPaint X to create this. I forgot to hold the sign so I just drew the sign and wrote a bunch of numbers and wrote my name and under my name I wrote mugshot. When I made this I was on a call with Melissa and she said this was a supernova! I hope you like this!!
